Tonight we went to the Imax to see Tornado Alley. After the film, Sean Casey was there to talk about  his storm chasing and also about his TIV2 (Tornado Intercept Vehicle). He is a pretty cool guy and is also quite funny when talking about his escapades. He drove the TIV up here and we were able to see it outside the Imax. Safari Park in San Diego is one of our favorite places to go. We prefer these Safari parks like this one and also Northwest trek in Washington as the animals roam free and are not caged up like the are in the zoos. While travelling we try to see as many of these types of parks as we can. Out with nature is what we like best!

It was a wild blustery day here on the Island and just the right type of weather to get out and storm watch.The wind and salt air felt great against the face. Today I got that call from my dermatologist with the results of my surgery on my nose. Apparently the margins were to close to be deemed a safe margin and so now we have to go onto another treatment plan. I have to see him in a couple of weeks and will be given a prescription for a cream to use for 8 hours every day for 5 days a week and for 6 weeks in total. Hopefully this will mop up any stray

Friday morning I had to be at the hospital for a small procedure to remove a cancerous spot from my nose. I was told in the beginning I would probably only need one or two stitches at the most but I guess because he had to remove more than expected it has taken 4 stitches  to close it up. I have been trying to come up with some new ideas for crafts. I found a bag like this at a craft sale when we were in England this past summer and so I bought it and have tried to duplicate it. Sunday it was a drive up island to a wonderful place called Cathedral Grove. For us, walking on the trails gives us a time to just forget about everything for awhile and seems to renew our energy. The last few days seem to have taken a bit out of me. What with Jean having the Shingles but is now starting to feel better except for the headaches and nerve pain that is down the side of his head and also hearing about so many of my breast cancer friends this last few months who are now having recurrences and also some that it has now become metastatic and has spread to their bones and liver.

Jean has developed a real bad case of Shingles which started a few days after we came home from Europe. At first we thought it was just a cold sore around his mouth and so we thought nothing of it until a day or so later the rash covered one side of his face and he developed horrendous headaches. He worked for the first day and a half but in the end we had to get him checked out at the clinic

We are having some very full days and have not had much computer time. We have been to Holland for a few days and then drove down to Paris for a few days and then we took the ferry over to Dover, England and we will be here for a few more days.

This morning we are off on the first leg of our trip. In a few hours we will take the ferry over to Vancouver where we will board our flight. It is a long flight and from the time we have been up from this morning until we next get to bed will be about 36 hours. Hopefully we do not have to much jet lag.

Saturday we are going on vacation. We are flying into Amsterdam and will be staying there for the first two days and from there we are driving down to France where we will go and see the Palace of Versailles and into Paris if we don't get lost! Today was my birthday and I have been spoiled..it's nice to be pampered!I have just been having some lazy days lately, enjoying the weather and watching hockey and getting out to the putting green. Last Friday I had my ultrasound done but it turned out to be inconclusive. The technician was able to feel the lump but for some reason it is not showing up on the ultrasound. We are trying to keep busy until my appointment for my tests on Friday May 13th. Yesterday I had my checkup at the Cancer clinic and we have decided I will stay on the Tamoxifen for the duration of the 5 years that I have to be on medications. After 3 years I have finally graduated to 6 month checkups as long as there are no complications or new symptoms.While I was waiting I read a pamphlet called "Abreast and the rest"....very informative. It has been a beautiful weekend here on the Island for the first weekend of Spring. The blossoms are out and looking so pretty. The daffodils and crocuses are blooming everywhere here.
